Northern Breed Dogs: Jindo kae
To the Northern Breed Dogs IndexThe Jindo, or Jindo kae, is a medium-sized, double-coated spitz-type dog from the Island of Jindo, Korea. They come in six colours: white, red, fawn, gray, black-and-tan, and brindle. Their eyes are almond or round in shape, and should be brown, with a dark reddish-brown being the preferred colour. They should be 19½ to 21 inches high (48-53 cm) for males and 18½ to 20 inches (45-50 cm) for females. Their weight should be 40-60 pounds (18-27 kilos) for males, 35-55 pounds (16-25 kilos) for females. The Jindo dog is designated and protected as a Natural Monument in Korea to honour its historic significance.
