1998 Yukon Quest
World's Largest Dog Team

1998 Yukon Quest World's Largest Dog Team     On October 24, 1998, the organizers of the Yukon Quest, "The Toughest Sled Dog Race in the World", set a world's record for the largest dog team ever to pull a load.

With 210 huskies in harness, a Kenworth with a flatbed trailer and huge loader were pulled up Front Street in Whitehorse for a total of 5 blocks.

For 1999, the attempt will be to break that record by hooking up 220 dogs to a similar load. For $35 US ($50 Canadian), you can sponsor one of the 220 dogs - you get a commemorative dog tag, and a chance to win a 7-day Caribbean cruise for 2. Those sponsoring more than 1 dog also get a photo of the event.
